Hoorah! We are back in Guatemala! We flew in last night, but since it's not wise to travel the roads at night, we stayed at our usual hotel (Barcelo) and we're awaiting our shuttle to take us back to Panajachel. We had their amazing breakfast buffet with fresh fruits, fried plantains, tamales, and more.

But our decision to move back still stands. We expect we'll go back around May 17 - the three-month allowance on our visa. We decided on an apartment and we're on the waiting list. We will be happy to be back with dear old friends and especially our family. The girls are growing up! They are 13 and 15 ('almost 16!'), and they are good kids.
Meantime, we are so happy to be back home in Guatemala. We will savor every moment, every friendship, and I'll try to take lots of pictures to post here.
We did bring home a treat for the friends here... three dozen Krispy Kreme donuts! We invited people to come visit this afternoon when we arrive in Pana and to enjoy a taste of 'back home'.
A KC friend, Nancy Pfromm, just emailed me and told me what a Bible student of hers once said... "They can't take away the dances I've danced!" So true. We will have these memories for all eternity. So it's time to get busy making more memories in the next three months.
I love your friend's comment. So apropos for so many of us. Blessings will follow you wherever you are as we know Jehovah does not forget the work we have done in his name. Our prayers with you.
ReplyDeleteYour faith and zeal (and adventurous spirit!) serve as a beautiful example to us all!! It will surely be a blessing for your granddaughters and your KC congregation to have you back with them and it will be exciting to see how many of them will choose to follow your good example and serve where the need is greater having seen the joy that "the best life ever" has brought to you both! Looking forward to continuing to read about your journey whether it's in Guatemala, KC or elsewhere.
