We have had some contacts from those who heard about a volcano in Guatemala and wondered if we were OK. See this news report.
We are presently a long way away... right now I am writing from La Blanca, on the Pacific coast up by Mexico. And the volcano is about 40 miles from Panajachel and Lake Atitlan and the ash is going in the opposite direction.
There are three volcanos (San Pedro, Toliman, and Atitlan) around Panajachel and Lake Atitlan, but so far so good! No recent or expected eruptions!
I hope the wind doesn't shift! That looks terrifying. Impressive, but terrifying. O_O
