So far we have seen Kelly and L'Oreal and granddaughters Kelse and Tiffany, and my sister Marilyn and her husband Duane and son Peter. We've seen friends Marivel, Rudy and Rudolfo, and Olga, Celina, Juventina, and our quasi-'kids' Manolo and Kristie. And we've barely gotten here!
Of course, I don't have warm clothes for here! So some folks have kindly loaned me a coat, and I'm scraping by.
We got to meet a young couple, Phil and Hannah, who will leave Friday for Taiwan for six months to improve their Chinese language skills. They were so excited about their coming adventure, and the prospect of their being more able to teach the Bible's hope to Chinese people here when they return to Kansas City (or, wherever they end up locating themselves).
The Gonzales family are hosting us here. They are so gracious to us here, providing some wonderful meals and hospitality. But, Marivel wanted to learn how to make meatloaf, so I'll provide dinner tomorrow night, with her watching - perhaps meatloaf, garlic mashed potatoes, and maybe a salad. Or, to make it really American, maybe green bean casserole? Can't get any more 'classic American' than that!
We'll be here til December 12, then back HOME to Guatemala!

ReplyDeleteYou got to meet Hannah and Phil! They must be getting really antsy about leaving. Jehovah's blessing them, though, so they'll have a very memorable experience. Hopefully memorable only in good ways! Those silly cousins of ours might create quite a few "adventures" of their own. Young people these days... ^-^
