First of all, Pana is a pretty casual place, so be comfortable! Second, the streets are of big stones and cobblestones, or uneven brick, or concrete - or just dirt. The sidewalks are rarely very usable - they start and stop so often that it's easier to just walk in the (bumpy) street. You'll want something stable and fairly indestructible. Right now is rainy season (until October), so they may also get wet or muddy. There is lots of dog poop and other 'hazards', so ... just don't worry about being cute. (Of course, this is from a 62-year-old woman who gave up 'cute' shoes a long time ago!)

Plus, here there are boys on the street that will shine your shoes for 5Q - less than a dollar, so even if they get scuffed or dusty, there is hope!
