Across the lake!

We had a group of 32 that went across the lake (in two boats, for Q12 each - $1.50 - round trip!) to Santa Cruz de La Laguna, in the ministry.  We had a blast!  Half of us stayed down toward the lake (Bill was in this half), and half of us (including me) hiked up the hill on a road, 2 kilometers on a VERY VERY steep incline!  But we had such fun!  Talked to mostly Spanish-speakers, some English-speakers.  All were friendly.  Kids gathering around wondering about this mixed group (Guatemalans in indiginous garb, Americans, Canadians, a French man, Australians), all laughing and talking.

The city built this laundry area. Fills middle with
clean water. Women bring clothes to the pilas all around,
dip clean water from the central pool, pour it over their
clothes in the pilas, and scrub on the corrugated cement
sinks in the pilas! It drains out away from clean water.

Our group, waiting for the boats.

This is Nelson.  He is a sweet young boy of 11 that wants
to serve Jehovah even though his family doesn't always
support him.  He sells trinkets on the street to save money
to get a ride into Pana for meetings (he lives out of town).
He is PRECIOUS and courageous!
