A special visit to Mexico

We have old and very, very dear friends, Ron and Mona Tellessen, that live on the Baja California peninsula in Mexico, near Cabo San Lucas.  They have been here over 4 years, and we have wanted to visit them - finally, we're here!

We had to get up at 3AM in our hotel in Guatemala City, to make a 4AM shuttle for a 6AM flight!  We were so excited but the energy started to fade over the day. But by the time we arrived in Los Cabos airport, we were pretty tired but so happy to be here!

Ocean

We drove up from the airport, and as we approached their house, we realized what a beautiful spot they live in!  Right on the ocean side of the peninsula, they care for an American woman's house, and so they have a charming caretaker's house with two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a patio.... and their front yard is the ocean!

And finally, here is 'their' ocean.  Yesterday morning we went out and watched 3 whales breaching and spraying from their spout and slapping the water with their tails.  It was AMAZING!

We drove down to San Jose del Cabo (?) and did some shopping and had lunch, and met some brothers at a table there!  They were very sweet, and we had some Oregon friends (Bohmkers) in common!

here is a picture of Mona, but it was in a rush and wasn't the best photo!  I'll post it, just to share.  Behind her is a photo of Ron with a tiger cub... I'll take a new one, a better one of both, and replace this!  

Here we are in an internet cafe, using their wifi, since the Tellessens live way out in the middle of nowhere and right now they're having trouble with internet.  We're at Cafe Todos Santos (the name of the town), enjoying a chai tea, a carrot drink (that's Bill's!) and a fantastic cinnamon roll.
