Superbowl party!

We were invited to a Superbowl party, with Perez, Andy Burns and Rachel Hamilton, the Eisenhauers, Andersons, and more.

Bill made some chili.  Back in the US, he used cans of tomatoes and red beans along with other ingredients.  Here, it is almost impossible to find any canned tomatoes or beans!  They understandably reason, why would anyone want to buy canned beans when fresh tomatoes and dried beans are abundant?  So, we bought 7 pounds of tomatoes, and scalded and peeled them, and made beans from dried beans.  The chili was FANTASTIC!  I made my slaw and Boston Baked Beans.  Others brought mac and cheese, veggies, beer, pasta salad, and more.

We put chairs out in the lawn in front of Bev's apartment (where I had stayed when first arriving).  (See the location at an earlier blog post.) Set up a couple of TVs, threw a football around, and watched the game - and commercials!

It was really fun!
