We had some spectacular news! Tonight it was announced that the English group is now an official congregation! "Lago Atitlan Ingles"! We are the first English congregation in all of Guatemala!
Perhaps ten or fifteen years ago, the first English congregation started in Mexico - and now there are dozens. We are excited to be in the beginnings of a great growth here too!
Postscript: We found out that Antigua was named a congregation also at the same time as we did! And there's another one forming in Guatemala City. There are some other potential spots with clusters of English speakers as well, so we're hopeful to have lots of company soon!
